Idaho Correctional Release Search

To find someone released from the Idaho state correctional system after a Gooding County case, use the statewide IDOC Resident/Client Search rather than the county jail record. IDOC assigns and transfers residents across its system, and no state prison is identified within Gooding County in the official location material reviewed. A state record may show custody, community supervision, warrant, deportation, or completed discharge. The release path must therefore distinguish a person still incarcerated from one living under supervision and one whose Idaho sentence has been satisfied.

Idaho Correctional System Releases

The Idaho state correctional system is a statewide network, not a Gooding County jail or a single “Gooding prison.” A person transported from Gooding County Jail to IDOC has left the county book but remains incarcerated. IDOC can assign or transfer that resident among institutions, so the current detail record is the proper source for facility or supervision location.

After state incarceration, a person may be released to parole or probation, discharged after satisfying the sentence, deported, or shown with an active bench warrant. “In community” paired with a Released to Supervision date and sentence status supports supervised community placement. “Discharged [date]” is the stronger completed-system label. Neither a Parole Eligibility Date nor a hearing date proves actual release.

Confirm an IDOC Release

IDOC updates its database daily but warns that fast-changing location, status, or scheduled termination data may lag. Search with enough identifiers to avoid merging people with similar names, then compare the state result with the sentencing case.

  1. Open the IDOC Resident/Client Search.
  2. Enter last and first name or IDOC number. Partial searches require at least two last-name characters or three IDOC-number digits.
  3. Match the IDOC number and birth year before opening the detail.
  4. Read overall status, facility or district, sentence status, Released to Supervision, and satisfaction fields.
  5. For “In community,” contact the displayed officer or district for current confirmation.
  6. For an incomplete or disputed record, use the IDOC information-request portal.

The Gooding County released-inmate guide explains when a county event record, iCourt case, BOP result, or ICE locator is needed instead. IDOC does not cover every person once held in Gooding County Jail.

IDOC Records and Contact

The public search is the first route for status and sentence fields. IDOC's official GovQA portal is the fallback for retained movement, release-to-supervision, discharge, correction, or photograph questions. Identify the IDOC number and exact event sought.

IDOC District 5
731 Shoup Avenue West
Twin Falls, ID 83301

District 5 covers Gooding County community supervision, but use the office shown on the current detail when it differs. County Adult Probation is a separate office for local misdemeanor cases and cannot confirm an IDOC parole record.

About Idaho State Custody

IDOC houses people committed under Idaho state authority and administers felony community supervision. Its public results list IDOC number, name, birth year, and status. Observed statuses include “In custody,” “In community,” “Active Bench Warrant,” “Deported,” and “Discharged MM/DD/YYYY.” Not every detail record carries every field.

Detail fields can include status, facility or supervision information, offense, sentencing county, case number, sentence status, Released to Supervision, Sentence Satisfaction Date, Parole Eligibility Date, and Next Parole Hearing Date. After sentence satisfaction, IDOC says only names appear and convictions do not, making the court file important for disposition history.

Idaho Release Date Meanings

Idaho's public record does not use one generic projected-release field. Parole Eligibility Date is the earliest point for possible consideration. Next Parole Hearing Date identifies process. Sentence Satisfaction Date is a calculated sentence endpoint. The Commission's Tentative Parole Date is conditional. None alone proves the person crossed from custody into the community.

For completed release, look later for “In community” with Released to Supervision or a discharged status. A Commission grant can still depend on programming, an approved parole plan, paperwork, discipline, recalculation, warrants, or other circumstances. Compare the decision with the later IDOC event.

Note: A Gooding jail transfer to IDOC ends county custody but does not constitute community release.

Gooding Cases in District 5

District 5 is headquartered in Twin Falls and covers Gooding along with seven neighboring counties. A Gooding-specific IDOC detail reviewed for the research showed how an active community record can identify the district, supervision contact, Gooding sentencing county, case number, sentence status, Released to Supervision date, and Sentence Satisfaction Date. Those fields provide a much stronger verification route than roster disappearance.

An active bench warrant is not ordinary successful supervision. It can lead to arrest and revocation proceedings. Likewise, “Deported” describes a distinct state-system status rather than proof of residence in Gooding County. Read the label as written and contact the responsible office when current location or legal status matters.

Gooding Court and IDOC Records

The IDOC record answers state custody and supervision questions; the Gooding iCourt file explains the judgment. A signed sentencing order can show the fixed and indeterminate terms, retained jurisdiction, probation, amendment, revocation, or credit. It may not show the actual IDOC gate event.

Use the sources in sequence. The court order establishes legal authority. A Commission record shows a parole process or conditional decision. IDOC then shows whether the person remained in custody, entered the community, or completed discharge. When records conflict, request that the custodian reconcile the specific status or event rather than choosing the most favorable date.

Idaho Parole Process Records

The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole publishes a hearing calendar and Notices of Action Taken. A calendar entry shows process, not release. A notice may state Grant Parole, Deny Parole, Continue, Reinstate, Revoke, or another listed result and can include a next hearing or tentative date. The exact decision language matters.

Parole is discretionary in Idaho. Under §19-2513, the fixed minimum generally precedes ordinary parole consideration, with the indeterminate portion supplying the usual parole window. A Parole Eligibility Date is therefore an earliest consideration point, not a promise. The Commission also explains that a grant can remain subject to programming, an approved plan, paperwork, and later changes.

Confirm a completed release later through IDOC. “In community” plus Released to Supervision is evidence of a state community placement. A discharge status is different because it reflects sentence satisfaction rather than ongoing parole. If the public notice is unclear, Commission summary minutes may be requested through its official public-information channel.

Request an IDOC Release Record

When the public search lacks an event or appears stale, use the IDOC GovQA portal. Identify the person by IDOC number, name, and birth year, then name the record sought: release-to-supervision, discharge, movement history, status correction, or photograph. A precise request reduces the chance that separate sentences or custody episodes are combined.

Ask for electronic delivery and an estimate before chargeable work. Idaho public-record law permits review, redaction, and exemptions, so do not demand the entire corrections file. If a field is withheld, ask for the legal basis and any reasonably segregable portion. The public search's lack of a photograph does not itself establish whether IDOC retains or can release an image.

For a Gooding sentence, also obtain the signed judgment and later orders from the filing court. IDOC can explain its own custody event; the clerk provides the authoritative court document. A correction to one system may need to be sent separately to the other custodian because the databases are not shared records.

Gooding and State Custody Boundaries

Gooding County Jail records cover the county booking. IDOC records cover state incarceration and state supervision. A federal sentence belongs in the BOP locator and federal docket, while immigration detention belongs with ICE. A single name can appear in more than one system over time, but each system confirms only its own custody episode.

When Gooding's book closes through transport to IDOC, the county release field should name the destination and the state detail should later show custody. When state custody ends through parole, the IDOC community record should identify supervision. When the full sentence ends, the results may show a dated discharge. This chain is more reliable than treating any disappearance as proof of freedom.
